Aadhaar Can Be Used as Address and Age Proof for Driving License

If the draft legislation proposing the new amendments for driving license awarding passes, Indian citizens will be able to use their Aadhaar ID as address and age proof in their driving license application.

Equally per reports from PTI, the draft notification which aims at alteration the course of awarding for a license to drive a motor vehicle and the class of driving license, as prescribed in the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, has been submitted to the law ministry for legal vetting.

Minister Prasad further said that although Aadhaar can be used as a proof of residence and age while applying for a driving license, it'due south not mandatory.
